Doug Dancer, Owner
Doug was the visionary behind Maple Street Mall.
With decades of retail experience that began at a Ben Franklin store in his twenties, Doug worked his way up to a management position within Dancer’s and eventually became president of the beloved 33-store chain.
Fast forward to 2008 and the downtown building that once housed Dancer’s Store #7 needed a new tenant.
Doug recognized that the layout would be perfectly suited for vendor booths. Drawing from his retail knowledge and conversations with original vendors, Doug shared his vision with his daughter Debbie:
“I think we can make this into a really cool antique store and give local people an opportunity to have their own business without having to be present seven days a week. The only thing is, I don’t want to run it!”
And with that, Maple Street Mall was born.

Debbie Shattuck, Owner & Manager
Enter Debbie.
After years of retail experience at Dancer’s, Debbie came to Maple Street Mall fresh off being a stay-at-home mom for 16 years. She jumped into the antique business headfirst and learned along the way, loving every minute of partnering with her dad.

Doug has been an incredible mentor, teacher, and role model—not only in business, but throughout Debbie’s entire life.
Debbie’s mother, Luanne, was also a successful entrepreneur, co-owning Vision Real Estate in Mason alongside her friend and business partner Paula Johnson for decades.
The example Doug and Luanne set through hard work, entrepreneurship, and community involvement created a foundation that continues to shape Maple Street Mall today.
